Summary Mees Hartvelt

In 1990 he started at Crown Van Gelder N.V. as controller and later became CFO and from 2004 CEO of that listed company. In 2007 he became chairman of the trade association and a member of the board of the European counterpart CEPI.

In 2010 he became chairman of AWVN and member of the executive committee of the Dutch Employer’s Organisation VNO-NCW and member of the SER (the Social Economic Counsil of the Dutch Government).

In 2011 he left as CEO and then became director of AWVN, responsible for 75% of the collective labor agreements concluded in the Netherlands. For VNO-NCW, he was responsible for the development of the Biobased Economy in the context of the sustainability and circularity of raw and auxiliary materials used in Industry.

During this period he became a member of the Supervisory Board of Dunamare, a educational group in Kennemerland and chair of the Supervisory Board of the ViVa Zorggroep. In 2014 he became a member of the Chamber of Commerce of the board of the Noord-Holland Water Board.

Around 2013 he started studying Eastern Philosophy and started mediation at board level. He then took up and completed the post-graduate course of life coach and then started the Stress and Burn-out coaching. During this time a deepening took place with the Ikigai coaching.

Since 2018 he is a coach in a retreat center in Northern France.
